SIGNED MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION FOR

ESTABLISHING A PLATFORM FOR MONITORING OF THE ELECTIONS

Today Citizen’s Association MOST, Institute for Communication Studies, Transparency International – Macedonia, Center for Economic Analysis and Civil – Center for Freedom, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the purpose of establishing a transparent and inclusive platform for cooperation and communication based on the Declaration of Global Principles for Nonpartisan Election Observation, as well as promotion of the common standards and codes of conduct during the process. The Declaration was signed on 3 April 2012 under the auspices of the United Nations, supported by several intergovernmental organizations, and signed by 160 non-governmental organizations from around the world.

This cooperation will, among other, be based on respect for the constitution, laws and international obligations related to the elections, impartiality and political neutrality, as well as impartial, accurate and timely fact-based reporting.

All signatory organizations agreed to co-operate to protect the rights of the voters and political actors, with strict impartiality and without discrimination, unreasonable restrictions, interferences or intimidations.
