15.07.2020, Skopje

The polling stations are opened and the voting is conducting in a safely manner, in accordance with the health protocols

The Citizens Association MOST follows today’s vote with 900 observers. At 696 polling stations, selected according to a random and representative sample, the same number of observers are deployed, by which 20% of the total number of polling stations on the whole territory of the country is covered, as well as 20% of the polling stations in each election unit.

MOST observers are static, and will monitor the voting process throughout the entire day. In addition, MOST has also deployed 55 mobile teams, consisting of 2 observers, which will serve as logistical support for the static observers, and occasionally will observe the PSs where MOST has no static observers. Additionally, 80 observers will monitor the work of the municipal election commissions, while the work of the State Election Commission will also be monitored.

As in the previous election processes, the Citizens Association MOST is implementing the project in accordance with the Declaration on Declaration of Global Principles for Nonpartisan Election Observation and Monitoring by Citizen Organizations and the other internationally recognized standards for domestic monitoring.

According to the information from the observers and the regional coordinators, all PSs where MOST has deployed its observers are opened, and so far, no irregularities within the voting procedure were noted. The voting is being conducted safely, in accordance with the health protocols.

During the day, citizens may use the free-of-charge phone line 080 080 080 to report potential irregularities or to give information regarding the voting process.

We stress once again that an observer of MOST is only a citizen who wears yellow T-shirt with a logo of MOST and text “Monitoring 2020” printed on the left side, and possesses an accreditation from the SEC and an authorization from MOST designated only for these elections.

MOST will announce all confirmed information from the monitoring of the Election Day to the public at additional three press conferences, at 11:00, at 15:00 and 19:00, while the time of the last press-conference on which the results from the PVT program for the turnout and distribution of the votes will be presented, will be additionally announced.
